DesiWiki aims to become a comprehensive source of information for Indian Startups. It is started and maintained by Desistartups.
Our mission is to host most of the data required for setting up and running a startup smoothly in India. This will happen in a phased manner with the help of the community. If you think you can contribute to this effort, then register for an account and start contributing.
Not a free advertising platform. Do not create pages like “We provide cheap financial services etc”. You will be immediately kicked out. We are planning to setup a separate forum for that. Just wait a little more.
While we try very hard to keep the wiki upto date, chances are some of the information might be out dated. Hence use this wiki as a reference and do proper home work. Alternatively, you can update a particular page if you figure out that the data is not accurate enough.
The default license is Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 India License, unless stated otherwise explicitly.
Yes of course. But make sure the following though.
We are certainly against posting content that violate copyrights. If you feel that certain content has to be reviewed/removed permanently, then do contact us via email - notify [at] desistartups [dot] in.
If you find any blog/website containing posts which might benefit startup and not being part of DesiWiki initiative, then use the email template below to contact the concerned blogger/webmaster and notify them about the DesiWiki initiative. Please be polite and do not spam.

Dear [Publisher name],
I am a regular reader of your blog/website. You have written a number of posts in the past that are of greater benefit for Indian Startups. I am sure, a number of them would have got directly/indirectly benefited through those posts. Thanks a lot! But as you know, some of these information needs to be updated quite frequently (due to changes in existing laws, new laws, new budget proposals etc). Also, since you are the owner of this content, it cannot be easily reproduced/replicated/re-published without seeking your permission, which defeats the ultimate purpose of providing useful information to startups.
The best solution available to this is to publish these information in the form of a wiki that can be owned/maintained by the community. One such project is DesiWiki (http://www.desiwiki.info) - started and maintained by desistartups group.
To start contributing to this initiative, all you to have to do is to register for an account and start creating pages. Alternatively, you can grant permission to the desistartups team by emailing your approval to license [at] desistartups [dot] in and also providing the content/url which you would like to be published in the wiki.
I would appreciate, if you can become part of this initiative sooner than later and start contributing to the best of the startup ecosystem.
Regards,

This page should eventually become a FAQ page and the start page should display contents under categories. Also how about adding a proper search functionality?
